Our Story
San Gregorio SpA was founded in 1963 thanks to the initiative of Franco Pozzi, Antonio Rogora, Arturo Mara, and Emilio Colombo. They took over a small foundry specialized in the production of devices for the textile industry, pursuing their long-standing aspiration: to create a company and make it progress by leveraging the experience gained over the years as employees in the historical companies of that time in our region.
With the continuous expansion of the steel industry in Italy and the resultant proliferation of rolling mills, the demand for laminating cylinders was becoming significant.
Thus began the production of the first nodular cast iron cylinders, and the immediate positive feedback that followed definitively marked the turning point for what would become the San Gregorio SpA of the future.

Installed 2,000 square meters of photovoltaic panels
All resources were devoted to enhancing the production of cylinders, adapting the various product qualities to the continuous evolution of rolling technologies. The nodular cast iron cylinders, in their main perlite, ferritic, and acicular configurations, had almost completely replaced the commonly used steel cylinders in the rolling of long products.
In the early 1980s, San Gregorio SpA was already a well-established brand on the national scene, and the logical consequence of the enormous wealth of experience accumulated in facing and solving the various challenges that arose during the continuous evolution of rolling in Italy was to begin expanding the market internationally. The first contacts began initially with the European market, especially Spain, and subsequently extended to the whole world.
As it approaches its 60th anniversary, San Gregorio SpA represents a cornerstone of the global steel industry with a product quality recognized by all its multiple customers, who turn to the company daily not only to purchase the product but also for technical consultations and services.
