This type of cast iron has as its main characteristic the annealed zone of the table degrading towards the core of the cylinder, giving the cylinder a higher toughness compared to the completely annealed cylinders, which have now fallen out of use.
It is used as a preparer on bar and small profile rolling mills, although nodular cast irons have effectively replaced this type of material, which, despite guaranteeing excellent wear resistance, does not provide the same level of toughness.
